Concussion Prevention and Safety

The TCDSB is a leader in concussion prevention and works with community partners on an ongoing basis to ensure the continued safety of our students.

In March 2018 former professional hockey player Eric Lindros and Privit software staff met with TCDSB staff and to discuss concussion prevention and protocol.

Lindros is working to make Rowan's Law the standard for all of Canada - especially in our schools and their related sports and activities. By working with the Concussion Project, a research initiative at Western University, he hopes to improve standards for brain care, with more comprehensive, mandatory training for teachers and coaches.

Privit is one tool that can improve TCDSB's concussion protocol. Privit is a software program that highlights the ability to easily track concussions and to disseminate information to teachers and coaches as the student progresses through the concussion protocol.
