Get your School moving

with the ParticipACTION 150 Play List

An opportunity for schools to engage with the ParticipACTION 150 Play List.
In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, we’ve created the ultimate list of physical activities that define us as Canadian. The ParticipACTION 150 Play List is a national program designed to encourage all Canadians to sit less and move more.
Your school or individual classrooms can participate with event or programs that feature 150 Play List sports and physical activities and in doing so, gain access to $300-$1000 micro-grants and be eligible to receive an Event Celebration Kit containing prizing, signage and more!  This could be a brand new event or program for your school or perhaps you have upcoming events and programs that might fit the criteria. All are encouraged.
What counts? Events or programs should take place before December 2, 2017, be inclusive, free of charge or minimal costs and enable students to participate in or try out sports and physical activities on the 150 Play List. For ongoing programs to be eligible, they should be offered for at least 4 weeks.
Why participate?
  • Engage your school in Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation while also getting your students physically active
  • Expose students to new physical activities and sports that they may not otherwise have the chance to play
  • Help amplify school events and programs with micro-grant support: Grants can be used to support qualified instructors, equipment and other costs that will make the program or event more impactful for your students
  • Enjoy a turnkey initiative with supportive resources like the School Digital Toolkit found HERE, which will help you plan and engage students in your 150 Play List school initiative
  • Provide a program that can be introduced in school and sent home with kids to promote physical activity in their individual households: Although students under 13 can’t register for the 150 Play List online, parents can register their family for continued participation at home, making them eligible to win great prizes such as a Canadian travel adventure, or even a new Chevrolet!
Interested? Get started now with these simple steps:
  1. Register: Click HERE to register your school’s event or program. During registration you’ll be prompted to ‘opt-in’ for a free Event Celebration Kit.
  2. Apply for a micro-grant: Upon registration completion, you’ll be provided the link to apply for a micro-grant. You may also access the link directly HERE. Note: You must have a registered event or program on the 150 Play List website to be eligible for a micro-grant. GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 24 2017!
  3. Start promoting your 150 Play List event or program at your school: Check out some handy digital tools in the digital School Toolkit HERE to help you get students excited. Examples include sample PA announcements, a letter home for parents and a student activity passport.
If you have any questions or require assistance with registration, your grant application or with creating your 150 Play List event or program, please don't hesitate to contact Participaction:
