Review by Blair Duckworth:

“I am a lover of Broadway musicals but URINETOWN is truly one of the few intelligent ones I’ve ever seen.”

“First time director John Zachar is astonishing in his instinctive ability to make it all work;”

“choreography dazzles”

“I am overwhelmed that these people would take the time, and make the effort, to teach us about what’s really important in our world. Hats off to all of them.”

“RUN, don’t walk, to get some (tickets) before somebody else beats you to it.”

Don't Let the title scare you off|

Urinetown is a modern musical and clever comedy with interesting characters, fun music, lots of laughs and much food for thought. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! The overall message, which attacks corporate greed, exploitation of the masses and our unsustainable lifestyle, is very relevant today.

We hope you’ll come out to see our talented staff perform this satirical sendup on politics, business, society and Broadway musicals. With the most awful title in musical theatre history, this Tony Award-winning musical will have you leaving the theatre laughing, humming and thinking.

"It is so refreshing to be entertained with wit and humour without any vulgar language along with refreshing tunes and crisp lyrics.” - Michael Englebert, AM 740.
