Toronto Catholic District School Board

2017-2018 Budget Consultation

The Ontario Education Act (Section 232), requires all school boards to submit a balanced budget to the Ministry of Education by June of each year. We are pleased to invite all TCDSB stakeholders to participate in a consultation session that will help the Board finalize its 2017- 2018 budget.

Due to the significant cost and expenditure savings made over the past two years, the Board is in a much better financial situation as we evaluate options to produce a balanced 2017-2018 budget.

To achieve our goal of avoiding any potential impact in our classrooms, the Board will use $7.5M of System Priorities funding provided by the Ministry of Education to offset reductions of $8.3M originally estimated in our Multi-Year Deficit Recovery Plan.  The remaining $800,000 will come from the suggested revenue generating opportunities identified in the Budget Survey below.

We welcome your feedback and comments. A number of information resources are listed on this page to assist you in this consultation process.

Please help us by completing the short survey today. Survey ends April 26, 2017 at Noon.
