Toronto Catholic District School Board

CEC Unveils New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

On Friday, March 6th, TCDSB’s Catholic Education Centre officially unveiled its new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, located in the CEC Parking Level 1.  Trustee Norm DiPasquale, Trustee Markus de Domenico and Associate Directors Dan koenig and Lloyd Noronha were on hand for the official ribbon cutting and photo op.

The installation of EVC stations at CEC meets both the City of Toronto’s “Green Standard” and the Provincial Climate Change Action Plan objective which requires residential and non-residential parking spaces to provide Level Two (240 V) charging stations and rough-in conduits.

For a limited time, the charging stations at CEC will be FREE to all staff and visitors for up to four hours of charging as part of a pilot project.

The EV charging stations support the Board’s continued efforts to create a culture of conservation and realize our role as stewards of God’s creation.  Fully electric cars have zero tailpipe emissions making them greener, cleaner and better for the environment than petrol or diesel cars. Less emissions mean reduced greenhouse gasses. With newer technology helping create even more environmentally friendly batteries, advances in hydrogen and even more efficient, quieter EV motors, the future of driving is bright - and clean.
