Community Day celebrations for the Feast of Corpus Christi will be held at the Parish and school grounds at 480 Rathburn Road, Etobicoke, ON M9C 3S8 on Saturday 17 June, 2017 from 11 am to 8 pm.
Our Corpus Christi celebration has been designed to be a community building event in which Nativity of Our Lord Parish together with Nativity of Our Lord School and Michael Power St. Joseph High School, will reach out to the broader community of our area through various activities listed on our website. We will also provide an opportunity to evangelize the broader community our Catholic belief in the True Presence of the Holy Eucharist through a Eucharistic Celebration and Procession after the Community Day event.
The church grounds will have a large covered stage, with entertainment from 11am to 4:30 pm. A triple Master Zumba class will take place between 10:30AM and noon on that day as well. Various musical performance such as Gabriela Rogers, a DJ, Latin Ballroom dancers, a world touring Ukrainian dance ensemble named Barvinok, 2 world renown tribute artists as Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly, vendors, and places where food and drink will be sold there. We will also host a "Silent Auction" with fabulous prizes during the day.
Our designated Children's Area will be buzzing with activities with a variety of games including a "Games on Wheels Video Bus", dunk tank, pony rides, inflatable slide, inflatable climbing wall, magicians, martial arts demonstrations, and other Carnival games.
The day will conclude with Mass at 5:00 pm followed by a Eucharistic Procession “the procession of 1,000 crucifixes” through the streets just north of the school.
Any profits from the day will be divided between our Parish’s sponsorship of students attending Our Lady of Fatima School in Bethlehem Palestine, and Nativity of Our Lord school’s desire to upgrade the field and recreational facilities.
Every organization and group in our Parish is engaged in this event, from our Catholic Women's League, the Knights of Columbus, our Seniors' group, our two Parish youth groups and the Youth Ministry, St. Vincent de Paul, and Michael Power St. Joseph Catholic High School, and Nativity of Our Lord elementary school
