TCDSB Screening of Documentary: Sea of Life

The Toronto Catholic District School Board will be screening an inspiring documentary titled “Sea of Life” on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Cineplex Yorkdale Cinemas. All TCDSB Secondary Schools are invited to register to attend the screening. The day will begin at 10:00 am and conclude at 1:00 pm.
Schools will receive 15 FREE tickets (14 student / 1 teacher), and one CODE 83 DAY for the teacher attending. Any unused tickets will be distributed to the registered schools after the registration deadline. All participants will receive popcorn and a drink.
Inspired by Rob Stewart's Revolution, young filmmaker Julia Barnes embarks on an epic journey around the world to save the ecosystems we depend on for survival, as we come closer to causing a mass extinction in the oceans. The filmmaker, Julia Barnes, was 16 years old and a Burlington high school student when she started the journey of making the film, completing it three years later.
Sea of Life has been screened at the Water Docs Festival, and Planet in Focus, Toronto's Environmental Film Festival, among others.  It has won awards at nine different festivals, including the Cinema Verde, Ekotopfilm, WaterDocs and the Impact Docs festival. The Director, Julia Barnes will be hosting a Q/A session with the students following the movie screening.
