ESL for Healthcare Professionals

Michael Garron Hospital, in partnership with the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), offers English as a Second Language (ESL) training for Healthcare Professionals.

The program is free for landed immigrants, convention refugees, refugee claimants and Canadian citizens pursuing a career in healthcare.

Program Highlights

  • Program offers advanced level English language training: Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 6-8.

  • Program lasts 10 weeks, 3 days a week, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays).

  • Program is offered on site, in person.

  • Learn general medical terminology for health care professionals.

  • Read health care journal articles and literature.

  • Learn how to:

    • Improve your bedside communication with patients.
