ShareLife—Working Wonders in our Community
ShareLife Week April 3-7, 2017
Lent begins on March 1st. This is the perfect time to remind you about “Wonderworkers”, a ShareLife curriculum, which was first shared with all schools in November. www.sharelife.org/OCSGE
“Wonderworkers”, ShareLife Curriculum Addressing the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations (OCSGE)
In alignment with ShareLife’s Mission: “To live the Gospel by providing for those in need”, Wonderworkers recounts the powerful true stories of people being raised up and supported in justice and love by agencies funded through the ShareLife campaign. Each section of the curriculum takes a thoughtful approach in connecting the work of a ShareLife funded agency as seen through the lens of the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations.
As Bishop John Boissonneau, Vicar for Catholic Education, explains, Wonderworkers is intended to foster a deeper understanding of Catholic charity and service in our students and staff alike. These lesson plans reflect the aims of the Religious Education Elementary School Program and the Ontario Catholic Secondary Curriculum policy document.
Any comments, feedback or suggestions should be directed to email@example.com. We hope you will embrace the lesson plans and implement them in your classrooms and staff rooms.
2017 ShareLife Parish Campaign
During this, our Year of the Parish, we encourage all students, staff and their families to consider supporting the many local Catholic charities that are funded through ShareLife. These Catholic agencies help families, single parents, the elderly, individuals with special needs, immigrants and refugees, the homeless and the needy, as well as the education of clergy within our own City of Toronto. Learn more about these organizations here: http://www.sharelife.org/Public/ShareLife-List-of-Agencies.
During Lent, and throughout the coming months, we invite you to consider partnering with your parish and support the work of ShareLife as it continues to “work wonders” in our own community and around the world. For further information on how you can support ShareLife, please contact Tim Lee Loy at firstname.lastname@example.org
We thank everyone in the TCDSB community for all that they do throughout the year to help others—giving of their time and their resources to make a difference. We applaud those efforts, and take great pride in the commitment to living our Catholic values and putting faith into action.
