Family Literacy Day

Family Literacy Day was held on Monday, January 27, 2020. This is a national initiative held annually in January to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family and focuses on the powerful role of parents and families in helping their children succeed in school.

TCDSB’s EarlyON Child and Family Centres opened their doors to children and parents/caregivers to celebrate Family Literacy Day and raise awareness of the importance of reading.

The Centres welcome parents/caregivers and their children up to six years of age each school day and offer a variety of fun learning activities for children and parents/caregivers to enjoy together. TCDSB believes that strong connections between home, community and schools all play an important part in supporting healthy environments for children to grow, develop and gain a sense of well-being on their life long journey of learning.
