Chaminade Goes to Microsoft

On May 14, 2019, Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) students and teachers from across the province came together to participate in an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Boot Camp at Microsoft Headquarters in Mississauga.
A group of SHSM students from Chaminade College School from the Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) as well as the Business sectors participated in this daylong event.


Students listened to an industry panel, took a tour of the Microsoft Campus and participated in hands on activities.

The panel was incredibly enjoyable - we got to hear about all things ranging from ethical concerns to the hands-on learning of neural networks!”

A Specialist High Skills Major program (SHSM) is a ministry-approved specialized program that allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements to graduate from secondary school.  For more information about the SHSM programs in your high school – visit the guidance office.
