Grade 9 Religion - Discipleship & Culture
This course invites students to a deeper understanding of both the joy and the demands of living out the call to discipleship as it is described in the Scriptures, sacraments, liturgical year and church teaching. Students will explore Catholic rituals, teaching, practice, morals, values, and virtues to develop a healthy relationship with God, self, and others.
Some of the issues and themes explored through Scripture include environmental stewardship, identity, stereotyping, body image, bullying, mental health issues, repairing broken relationships, oppression, hope and empowerment.
Students decorate their lockers with Scripture passages based on themes of their choice.

Students make rosaries to celebrate World Rosary Day (note: some students wore orange shirts to commemorate Orange Shirt Day in remembrance of victims and survivors of residential schools).

Students explore current events for International Women's Day and express their thoughts through a drama-prayer.
