Madonna Students Participate in an Emergency Preparedness Mock Exercise – Code Red (Fire)

Madonna students delayed their March break for just a little while in order to help out at their local hospital. The Emergency Preparedness Committee conducted a fire drill at Humber River Hospital after school on Friday, March 8 and needed volunteers to participate; the  Madonna students took on the challenge!
Thirty students took the opportunity to ge some community service hours and help out Humber River Hospital with a Code Red Fire Drill.  Drills such as these are done regularly in order to test the Code Procedures and to train and prepare staff for such possible situations. The Volunteer Services Department at HRH, which coordinated the student involvement, ensured that, in addition to providing this valuable service to the hospital, the students got a tour of the Command Centre as well as a certificate of Appreciation.
When community partners work together - great things happen!
Well done Madonna and Humber River Hospital!
