Dear Parents, Guardians:
It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you of the sudden passing of our beloved Co-Operative Education Teacher, Sonja Kekesi on Friday, May 11, 2012. Our hearts and prayers go out to her husband, George Kekesi, who is also a teacher at Madonna Catholic Secondary School.
Mrs. Kekesi has been a teacher at Madonna for 34 years. She was a dedicated educator who made a significant and long-lasting contribution to the lives of both students and staff.   She will be remembered for her tireless commitment and kindness supporting the success of her students. She will be dearly missed by all of us in the Madonna school community.
A team of social workers, psychologists, our school chaplain and TCDSB staff  are available at our school to provide all of the necessary supports to our students and staff as we grieve this tragic loss.  Should your daughter experience any fears or anxieties in regards to this, please ensure that her classroom teacher or her Guidance counsellor is notified so that we may be able to work together to address them.
The family is arranging a private funeral.  A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for our community at a later date - details will follow shortly. Condolences and tributes may be registered online at . Students and staff have been invited to submit handwritten expressions of sympathy at the school.
A Graduation Bursary for a Madonna CSS student has been set up in Mrs. Kekesi’s memory. On-line donations may be made at:
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult period.
