Appreciation Tea

On May 18th Pope Francis School hosted a Appreciation Tea for all our school community members, to show our appreciation for all that they do for our school. Thank you to everyone who attended the very popular event.

Meagan's Walk

On May 11th, the school participated in Meagan's walk. All the students participated and joined together to show support. $425 was raised and donated to the foundation. Thank you to all the families for your support.

Lego Math Night

On May 8th many families from Pope Francis School joined together for some fun and learning using Lego. Mr. Lego and lead the students and parents in some exciting history of Mathematics as well as some very important contributions that Math has made to our everyday lives. Then the students had an opportunity to test out their new learning with hands on activities to build towers, bridges and an number of other structures. Thank you to all the families that attended.


Teen Ranch

From April 30-May4th the Gr 7 & 8 student participated in an overnight excursion to Teen Ranch. On this experience the students had an opportunity to ride and horse, go ice skating, swing on a giant swing and live in community together.

Junior Girls Volleyball

On April 4th the Junior Girls Volleyball hosted their divisional tournament at Pope Francis. The Girls played very well and finished 3rd in the tournament. Great job girls! Congratulations to all the teams that participated in a very competitive and high skilled tournament.

Junior Boys Volleyball

On April 3rd the Junior Boys Volleyball Team participated in the divisional tournament at Pope Francis school. The day was filled with high energy action and some great competition. Congratulations to all the teams that participated.


Stations of the Cross

On March 29th the students in Gr. 3 and 4 worked together to present a re-enactment of the stations of the cross. It was a moving reminder of the last few hours of Jesus's life on earth.

Child Care Update

CSPC Big Box Fundraiser

Beginning on Thursday February 15th, Pope Francis School will be participating in a CSPC fundraising initiative. Please consider participating in the effort. Please return order forms by March 5th.

Shrove Tuesday












































On Tuesday February 13th, Pope Francis School participated in a Shrove Tuesday celebration. Shrove Tuesday is a traditional day of celebration where Catholics around the world eat foods to "clear out" their cupboards in preparation for the 40 days of Lent. Thank you to the many parent volunteers who made hundreds of pancakes for the students.

Valentine Dance  

On Thursday February 8th, the students at Pope Francis school participated in a Valentine's Dance. All the students had a great time. Thank you to the Gr. 7&8 students who organized the dance. Thank you to Ms. Morais for popping the popcorn for the dance.


Winter Carnival

On Friday February 9th the students were visited by a special winter guest. Bonhomme visited the classes and shared a hot chocolate treat.

Toronto Fire Fighters Visit Pope Francis

On Thursday January 18th, the Toronto Fire Fighters visited our school to teach the Kindergarten to Gr. 3 students about fire safety. One of our teachers even joined in on the learning.

Christmas Sweater Day

Some of the students displayed their Christmas spirit with their wardrobe. Christmas sweaters were on for all to enjoy as we neared Christmas Day.


Christmas Concert

On December 13th the staff and students of Pope Francis worked together a night of Christmas Cheer.

All the students were involved in a wonderful night.

Also on the night was a Silent Auction, 50/50 draw and some Christmas treats. Thank you to the staff and Parent council for helping to make a very special night for all.

Halloween Dance

On October 31st the staff and students participated in a Halloween Dance. Thank you to the Intermediate students who helped to organize and run the dance.


Coding is Coming to Pope Francis 


Hatch Canada will be hosting an after school coding program at Pope Francis CS on Wednesdays for grade 3+ students from January 17, 2017 to March 7, 2017 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. There is a cost associated with the program. More information will follow.


Hatch’s prime class introduces students to code using JavaScript, a leading  real world language. Students can start from the basics or from an advanced level and explore over 600+ projects and activities. Fun themes such as Minecraft, Pokemon and Star Wars engages students as they build critical 21st century skills. No student will be left behind with Hatch’s self-paced, mastery-based learning platform. Coding is made fun through practice of fundamental computer science concepts in a creative and inclusive learning environment. Students will progress through projects as they master key skills to become the next generation’s S.T.E.M. leaders and coders. 


1st Communion and Confirmation Update 















































Greetings Parents & Children,

The First Holy Communion classes begin Sunday, October 29 at 10:30 AM OR Saturday, November 4th at 4:00 PM. Classes will be held in the church.

Please be prepared to attend mass following class as we will be distributing a cross pendant to each child. The intention of the pendant is to identify the children who are preparing for First Reconciliation & First Eucharist to the parish community, to encourage prayers for the children.

Terry Fox Walk 2017-2018

Although the weather was a bit warm, it did not prevent us from participating in our Terry Fox walk/run. On Tuesday September 26th, the students from Pope Francis walked together to support Terry Fox and cancer research.


Thank you to all the people who donated funds. We were able to raise over $250 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Thank you Ms. Di Ciocco and Ms. Rego for organizing a great event.
