Colleges Now Offer Diplomas and Degrees

Diploma Requirements:
  1. Courses can be taken at the University, University/College and College level.
  2. Most diploma programs require high school courses at the College level, but there are exceptions, which require University/College courses or even University level courses. You must check each program carefully in order to ensure you have what you need for what you want to study in College.
  3. Marks are becoming a significant factor – especially in over-subscribed programs.
  4. Many programs require the GATBY test, which is a computerized Math and English assessment.
  5. Choose your courses wisely, so that you can maximize your admission chances. Refer to College websites and calendars. One of the most helpful websites is www.ontariocolleges.ca. This site links to Ontario Colleges and allows you to search by Program. Be sure to visit colleges that interest you and to consider Colleges outside the Toronto area.
  6. Keep in close contact with your Guidance Counsellor.
College Degree Requirements:
  1. Only University and University/College courses will be accepted. Six "U" and/or "M" code courses, including ENG4U1 and any required courses are used to determine your admission status.
