Catholic School Parent Council Elections
Catholic School Parent Councils are a great way for parents/guardians to become engaged in the school.  The purpose of the CSPC is to improve student achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents (O. Reg. 612, s. 2(1)).
Election of Parent/Guardian Members
·        There are seven (7) positions for parent/guardian representatives on the Bishop Macdonell CSPC.
·        A person is qualified to be a parent member of the CSPC is he or she is a parent/guardian of a pupil enrolled at Bishop Macdonell.
·        A person is not qualified to be a parent member of the CSPC if he/she is employed at the school.
·        A person is not qualified to be a parent member on the council if, he/she works at another school within the TCDSB, unless he/she takes reasonable steps to inform people qualified to vote in the election of parent members of that employment. 
·        If you are interested to run for a parent position on Council, please submit completed attached nomination forms to the main office by Friday, September 27, 2019.
Day of the Elections
·        Only parents/guardians with children registered in the 2019-2020 school year at Bishop Macdonell are eligible to participate in the voting process.
·        Voting will be conducted in person by secret ballot on Monday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Mary school library. 
·        Please note that only the parents/guardians that are successful in attaining a position on Council for 2019-2020 are eligible to then vote for the executive positions on the council.
·        All parents will be notified of the composition of the Bishop Macdonell CSPC by Wednesday, October 2.  Information will be posted on the school website,, on the Catholic School Parent Council page.
