Toronto Catholic District School Board

Automotive class in the technology program We are fortunate at Marrocco Merton to have expansive, modern, well-equipped technology classrooms and shops.  Fully  one third of the school’s space is devoted to construction, automotive and computer technology instruction.  This means that students at our school can expect industry-standard training in skills that take them to post-secondary and beyond.  Paired with co-operative education, students can take advantage of workplace training where they can accumulate apprenticeship hours and gain credits towards their high school diploma.
Construction Pathway
This program provides direct and relevant pathways through a set of pre-selected courses for students who choose to enter the Construction Industry directly from high school. Opportunities exist through cooperative education for students to meet the initial requirements of the Construction Industry. Fast Forward offers industry recognized certifications which confirm for employers that students have demonstrated the skills necessary for entrance into the Construction Industry. We have construction partnerships with Local 27 Carpenter’s Union, Local 183 Housing Worker’s Union and Local 675 Drywall and Surface Finishers.
