Pink Day 2018

On Wednesday April 11, 2018, the Toronto Police Service, joined staff, students and special guests at Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School, to celebrate International Day of Pink by highlighting student-based anti-bullying initiatives.

Toronto Catholic District School Board Director of Education Rory McGuckin, Superintendent Shawna Campbell, Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School Principal Kristine Carey, and several student leaders, joined Deputy Chief Peter Yuen and members of the Toronto Police Service for this special celebration.

The International Day of Pink started when a Nova Scotia teen was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. His fellow students rallied by all wearing pink and showed their solidarity against LGBTQ-based discrimination. #StopBullyingNow
