Our TCDSB Story: Canada150 Tessellation Project

As we plan for the final year of our three-year pastoral plan, the Year of the School, we celebrate the Family, Parish and School working together for students in our Catholic schools.

Schools are invited to create a tessellating piece to illustrate their unique story as a Catholic education community, and how each school fits together in the larger TCDSB story.

The individual pieces will be showcased on the board’s website, and the completed tessellation will be showcased at a board wide celebration in May 2018 during Catholic Education Week as our Year of the School draws to a close.

This panel is step 1 of the final tile that will be sent to the board to join other schools. Each tile in this panel is the work of a member of the school community, mainly the Visual arts students, and each represents the idea of how faith and Catholic values are developed, either by the student's family, by the school community or by the student's Parish, or how spirituality is part of our lives. The tiles has been executed in mixed media and mixed techniques (watercolour and ink, pencil crayon and marker)and most are a combination of text and images.

Congratulations to all the students who took part and to Ms. Croce & Mrs. Farrell for creating this great work of art.
