TCDSB Schools Host 
Scarborough Seedy Saturday And Green Fair​

 
This annual environmental and gardening fair has celebrated over nine years in Scarborough, showcasing organic growing, green living ideas, and opportunities to learn about healthy and sustainable living.
 
Admission is $2.00 (or pay what you can), and kids 12 and under are free.
Guests have a number of displays and activities to look forward to, including:
  • green exhibits;
  • heirloom and open-pollinated seed exchange;
  • gardening, heirloom seed and flower vendors;
  • displays from environmental groups and associations;
  • bee products;
  • worm composting;
  • Kids’ Zone featuring eco games, arts and crafts, face painting, and more.

 

Workshops this year will include:
  • Backyard Birds through the Seasons with Emily Rondel of Toronto Regional Conservation Authority: attendees will learn the various ways we can support our local birds, through habitat, feeding, citizen science and more;
  • Gardeners against Climate Change with Robin Tench of Earthworks Ecological Gardening: attendees will learn ways we can grow more sustainably and support biodiversity in our backyards;
  • Saving and planting Seeds
Running simultaneously with the SSSGF is the annual ParkPeople Scarborough Parks Summit.  Guests can learn how to support and enhance their local parks.
 
PLEASE RECYCLE! Attendees are encouraged to be environmental stewards and bring in their used electronics, batteries and markers for recycling.
 
About Scarborough Seedy Saturday And Green Fair
Seedy Saturday is a community event made possible thanks to the hundreds of hours of volunteer time, and dedication of St. Agatha students, St John Henry Newman students, various schools, Seeds of Diversity and more. Seedy Saturday works to educate, inform and enlighten the community about environmentally-friendly products, services, and lifestyles, organic growing and sustainable living.
