Toronto Catholic District School Board

Blessed Trinity Catholic School Pan Am Games

The students at Blessed Trinity Catholic School came together as a school last month much in the same way the the Americas have are being brought together this summer for the Pan Am Games. With help from parents, teachers and other volunteers, the students presented their own version of the Pan Am Games at the school on Tuesday, June 16th. The students were divided into 22 teams, each representing a North or South American country. Dressed in t-shirts designed by the students themselves, they competed in 10 events over the course of the day, including Co-op Volleyball, Batter-Up, Bowlerama, Fast Break Lacrosse, Cricket and more. The opening ceremonies happened just after 9am with the lighting of the school's own "torch" and the event ran all day until the closing ceremonies with only a break for lunch! Teams were evaluated on everything from spirit, enthusiasm, competitiveness and sportsmanship until three top teams were named. Special Snapd congratulations goes out to Teams Venezuela, Mexico and Dominican Republic!!
