UNIFORM POLICY--Chaminade College School
 
Wearing the Chaminade uniform is an obligation and an expectation of all Chaminade students.  Ministry Of Education regulations and TCDSB policies, require each school community to develop a Uniform Policy which the Principal, Vice-Principals and staff are expected by Board of Trustees to enforce strictly.
 
Students are expected to wear the Chaminade’s uniform properly, exhibiting pride, neatness and good grooming.  Adherence to the uniform guidelines will be determined by the Administration and school staff.
 
Compulsory School Uniform
Our uniform  must be purchased from:

Students must obtain the physical education uniform from the Phys. Ed. Department at school.
All new and returning students must have their full uniform in good condition.
OUR UNIFORM REGULATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
          *Regulation school sweater, zippered pullover,   cardigan, vest
          R.J. McCarthy’s light grey dress pants worn at the WAIST (BLACK BELT ONLY)
          Plain white dress shirt (long-sleeve) – tucked in at all times
          Official school tie
          Solid BLACK, leather DRESS SHOES
          Chaminade golf shirt (white) is allowed from September until the Thanksgiving weekend & from May until the end of the school year.  Golf Shirts must be neatly tucked in at all times.  No long-sleeved shirts may be worn under the golf shirt.
 
*Students may be excused from wearing their sweaters inside the classroom at the discretion of the teacher.
 
 
           Black running shoes/black boot-style shoes.
          Headgear of any kind worn in the school.
          Oversized clothing.
          Pants worn below the waist. No broken zippers or pants 1 or 2 sizes too small.
          Coloured t-shirts or white t-shirts containing any writing or design.
          Earrings, nose rings, facial piercing, or any visible body piercing worn in school or on school property.**
          Pins, earrings or any other pendant pinned to a sweater, shirt or golf shirt.
          Chains and key chains hanging from the pant or shirt pockets.
          Colouring or writing on the school tie.
          Cell phones are strictly forbidden in change rooms, chapel, classrooms, gym and hallways. They must be turned off.  They are permitted in the Common Area
        and the Cafeteria only. Earphones of any type, MP3 players or any other listening devices are not permitted.
        Shorts are never allowed.
 
**Band-aids covering pierced points are not permitted. 
 
The same rules apply in regards to dress attire during Civvies Days for those students who have paid for this privilege.  Otherwise, they will be required to be dressed in full uniform on these days.
 

Dress Code in TCDSB Schools

 
All Elementary schools within the jurisdiction of the Board shall adopt an Appropriate Dress Code or Uniform Dress Code.

All Secondary schools within the jurisdiction of the Board shall adopt a Uniform Dress Code.
 
Parents are encouraged to review the local dress code at their child’s school and to direct their questions to the principal of the school.
