Parents/guardians play a vital role in their children's education. Increased parental involvement equals higher student achievement, attendance, improved behaviour, improved school climate and a better relationship between home and school. Children receive the best education when parents and teachers work as a team. It's a parent’s/guardian’s enthusiasm, support and involvement that inspires children to do their best. Parents/guardians, working together with the dedicated staff at Epiphany have achieved wonderful things for the students.
Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Academy’s Catholic School Parent Council (CSPC) is comprised of a small elected executive (Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) who work together with all parents/guardians, the principal and staff. Our main objective is to promote the educational interests of the school and the students. It is made up of parent volunteers working together with the teachers and the principal to support all students at Epiphany through a variety of school initiatives. CSPC plans many activities and fundraisers to support student learning. Sample activities include Scholastic Book, Christmas Raffle, Special performances, Valentine Dance-a-Thon, Tree planting, purchasing of school t-shirts, Pancake Breakfast, school buses for class trips, Scientist in the School class presentations, contributions to Kindergarten and Grade 8 Graduations, First Communion, and Confirmation, end of the year play day and End-of-Year BBQ. We provide resources to support school learning, quality sports and arts programming, as well as teacher support through increased volunteerism in our school.
Epiphany’s CSPC meet once a month to talk about current school events and news, share ideas and discuss events that benefit the entire school population. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. This year’s CSC meetings are as follows:

Parent Voice and More Parent Involvement:
If you want to be involved in your child's education within the school, that's fantastic! Here's an even greater opportunity for you to get involved in a meaningful and productive way not only at the school level, but also at the board level. This is an invitation for all parents to share ideas, opinions, views, and strategies and to better facilitate parent involvement in our Catholic education system ... It's called CPIC and you are encouraged to lend your voice to the discussion. If you are open to having a voice, read more ...
Catholic Parent Involvement Committee:
The Ontario Ministry of Education, in its December 2005 Parent Involvement Advisory Policy, mandated the creation of Parent Involvement Committees in each school board in Ontario.
The Toronto Catholic District School Board is committed to ensuring that all parents and members of our culturally diverse communities have opportunities to participate in the school system and shall provide the support necessary to achieve that goal.
CPIC membership includes one (1) parent representative and one (1) parent alternate elected by their peers from each of the 12 TCDSB Trustee wards. The committee will be chaired by parents. CPIC includes trustee members as appointed by the Board and board staff designated as a resource to the committee. Ward representatives will serve a one or two year term.
All parents/guardians with at least one child or more currently registered in one of our TCDSB Catholic schools. An employee of the TCDSB is not eligible to be elected to this council.
Simply complete the nomination form included in this communication and bring it with you to the scheduled Ward Meeting to present to the Superintendent of Education facilitating the election process.
