Mr. Lopreiato, Technological Design teacher at Father Henry Carr Catholic School and a professional architect, handcrafted a wooden cross for All Saints Catholic School.  It was gifted to the school by John, whose two sons attend All Saints Catholic School.  During the planning process, John's vision was to design and build a cross that represented the dynamic energy of the school.  Willow wood was chosen because of its natural deep colour and varying shades. The cross is made of various alternating and undulating pieces that are stacked together to form a rhythmic movement.  The base that holds the cross is stained a dark colour that represents the earth, twisting itself to support the power of the cross.  The focal point is the heart of the cross, where a laser etched crest of the school sits, representing the school's faith centered in Christ.  The cross is on display in the school's atrium and will be blessed at an upcoming school mass.
