IMG_2456 rev.jpg
Fresh off of a BIG win in the 2018 FHC Prep Alumni Game, Father Henry Carr alumnus John Akende, has committed to the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

John was a 4 year starter at FHC before joining RISE Prep in Brantford, Ontario.
While at FHC, John led his teams to tremendous success. As a freshman in 2013-2014, he led our Junior team to the undisputed # 1 ranking in Canada. Two years later, he led the FHC Senior team to a 36-1 record against high school teams, the Ontario High School Championship and the undisputed # 1 high school ranking in Canada; all that, while also playing in the inaugural OSBA prep season with a high school eligible roster!

Congratulations & best wishes to John and his new coaches at USF, Chris Johnson & Jack Nelson.

This concludes our recruiting for the class of 2018. John joins Jamani Barrett (Midland College; Midland, Texas), Samuel Campbell (UPEI; Charlottetown, PEI) and Tadre Morse (Indian River State College; Fort Pierce, Florida) in moving on to post-secondary institutions.

FHC Coach Melnik shared,"I cannot express how much [these students'] progression and ultimate success means to me. As you know, we have worked so hard together over the years. I want to sincerely thank you all for your incredible encouragement and support."
