Toronto Catholic District School Board

Principal's Message

Together we create, strive, and innovate!

The above motto perfectly summarizes the Father John Redmond community.  Since opening our doors in 1985, Father John Redmond CSS and RAC has a proud tradition of educating Catholic youth in the Basilian spirit of “Teach me Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge”.  The late Father John Redmond, Basilian Priest and Catholic educator, strongly emphasized the importance of educating the whole student.  We are pleased that his legacy lives on.

We are the Regional Catholic School of the Arts in Etobicoke.  Redmond’s focus is Dance, Music, Drama, and Visual Arts.  Students who demonstrate talent, combined with an excellent academic record, are accepted into the Regional Arts Program.

Another unique feature of our school is a partnership that we are currently exploring with Humber Institute of Technology / University of Guelph.  We also share some of their facilities, such as the theatre, and have a partnership with their faculty.   Students in our Arts Program have the opportunity to interact with talented Music, Theatre, and Dance Professors.

Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School and Regional Arts Centre is also known for its academic excellence and athletic program.  We offer the Congregated Advanced Placement Program in English, French, Mathematics, and Science.  Our hockey, track and field, volleyball, and cross-country teams are among the best in the TCDSB.

The late Fr. John Redmond would have been proud of us.  His legacy of  “Cursum Cunsumavi: Fidem Servavi” “I have finished the race; I have kept the faith” is carried on into the future.  Indeed, we are running the race well here at Redmond.

Yours in partnership,

Ms. L. Tomeczek, OCT
