Congratulations to former Francis Libermann student Danielle Moore for being recognized by the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) with their prestigious Alumni Award!

Danielle Moore - Winner of TCDSB Alumni Award
The Alumni Award is given to former TCDSB students who have achieved significant success in their chosen pathway, who have made a positive contribution to their community, and who represent the image of the Catholic learner.

Danielle tragically lost her life on March 10th, 2019, on Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302. She was on her way to Kenya, to represent Canada at the United Nations Assembly on Environmental Issues. She was selected to represent Canada because of her “out of the box, innovative thinking and leadership”, as described by UN officials. Danielle always stood for issues that were bigger than herself, such as protecting the environment, indigenous rights, and female rights, to name a few. It is without question that she added immense value to the Earth and its people during her time here. In the words of Danielle, ask yourself, “What are you going to do with the time you have here?”.

Danielle, thank you for your incredible contributions to the environment, and for simply trying to make this world a more peaceful place! We all look forward to celebrating your achievements on Monday, May 3, 2021.
