  • December 2019Since the last LDC meeting the architects have arranged for numerous technical testing, reports and inspections to allow for detailed design to begin. Prior to the LDC signing off on design, preliminary costing will be confirmed and some further discussions with City officials regarding the current design will take place.

  • September 2019: Site Plan Approval Submission is anticipated for October 18, 2019.

  • May 2019: A Site plan pre-application meeting took place April 12, 2019 to assist in determining preferred Concept design layout, the LDC agreed that the replacement school is to be located in approximately the same location as the existing school.

  • September 2018: Funding has been approved for the development of a new school at the site of Holy Angels Catholic School. The status of the project is as follows:​

    • ​​​​​​​​Funding from the Ministry of Education for a new 600 pupil school with five child care rooms was approved on May 13, 2018;​ 

    • Capital Development ​​​​​staff are finalizing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to be issued at the end of October to prequalified architects, for selection of a team of consultants to provide full architectural services for the new school and child care;

    • ​A recommendation for the architect will go to Board in December for approval, followed by a start-up meeting at the school early in the new year.​

    • ​Once an architect has been chosen, a Local Design Committee (LDC), comprising the school principal, parent and teacher representatives, the area superintendent, trustee and pastor will be formed to work with the architect, Facilities and Early Years staff.​
