The Toronto Catholic District School Board is focused on creating learning environments that promote the development of 21st Century Learning Skills: collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.
Staff and students at Holy Rosary are embracing this new perspective in teaching and learning through various initiatives at the school:
The regular classrom teacher collaborates with Specialist teachers (Special Education and English as a Second Language) to plan and program for our ALL of our students. Students are supported both in and outside of the classroom setting in accordance with their individual needs.
Students have access to technology as a learning tool on a daily basis. Each classroom has a computer centre and all classrooms are wireless. The school has two mobile computer labs, offering the use of net books and mini iPads to all students.
Classrooms have multimedia projectors, Smart Boards and more to enhance the learning environment.
Students may bring their own devices to school to be used under direction and supervision of the classroom teacher. Please see the TCDSB Acceptable Use Policy included in the school handbook for guidelines.
Our Specialist teachers have incorporated programs such as Premier, Kurzweil, and Dragon Naturally Speaking into much of their work with students. Students are provided with the necessary tools to access the curriculum and display their learninng.
