The following document is the TCDSB policy on homework.  This policy represents a partnership between the school and home.  It is an opportunity for our students to achieve success by accommodating their developmental and individual needs. Homework reinforces and extends school experiences, develops positive attitudes and the learning skills required for self-discipline, time management and good work habits to further develop and/or strengthen.  Homework is not something the school assigns to keep students busy at night.  It is neither a punitive measure, nor intended to place unreasonable demand on parents.
Students will be afforded time in school to begin, complete, or even finish assigned work.  Should issues arise around homework or you just need information about your child's class in specific, it is best to speak to the teacher directly to get a better understanding of issues head-on and upfront.
