Diploma Requirements

In order to earn the OSSD, students must earn a total of 30 credits (110 hours per course) distributed as follows...
 
Compulsory credits – Total of 18   Plus

4 English, one in each year   1 from English, Social Science, Canadian and World Studies, or a third language  
1 French   1 from Business Studies, Physical Education, Arts  
3 Mathematics 11 or 12 1 from Science or Technological Education  9-12

1 Canadian Geography   12 Any additional type course  
1 Arts        
1 Health & Physical Education        
1 Career Studies and Civics   Community Involvement - 40 hours over the four years of high school

Evaluation and Reporting
The evaluation of student progress is continuous and ongoing. The forms of evaluation may include homework assignments, tests, essays, projects, lab work, oral reports, class participation, formal examinations.
Attendance at all required exams is mandatory and absences will result in zero unless a medical note is received by the school. Exams cannot be rescheduled to accommodate trips or family obligations.

Mid-term reports will go out half way through each semester. Final reports will be available at the end of each semester. Parent-teacher interviews will be held several times during the school year after reports have been prepared. Exact dates will be announced.
