Vanier Robotics Team 2015
The TCDSB Robotics Compettion has been a tradition for many years now, and is held at Francis Libermann Catholic School each spring. This year, the team from Jean Vanier, headed by Mr Jorge, science department head, entered and competed for the first time.
The competition was held at Francis Libermann on Saturday, March 28 and we competed in 7 games and ended up 5th. Despite a number of mechanical issues both before and during competition, the team was able to work together to have a robot which finished the Harvest and was able to leave the arena under its own power!
The theme this year was "Harvest Time", and
everyone is here to lend a hand - ours happened to be a robotic one!
Krishant
Subramaniam, Liam Kelly, Gabrielle Abrasaldo, Parami Wijesundara, James
Polvorosa, Joshua Judalco, Jimmy Chen, Duc Luu and Matthew Waterson worked for
months on our robot (nicknamed Basketcase/Jorgie/YOLO) and produced a well-rounded ABS pipe harvesting machine. Congratulations go out to all
the students involved and JV Robotics 2016 promises to be a good one!
Here are a few more pictures of the event.
