Jean Vanier CSS and L'Arche Celebrate!

jean vanier 25th anniversary.png

This year is the 25th anniversary of the founding of Jean Vanier CSS and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the L'Arche homes for men with differing abilities. The latter was founded by Jean Vanier, for whom the school is named. One such home, L'Arche Daybreak, situated in Richmond Hill, hosts many groups from the TCDSB, and each year hosts the Jean Vanier leadership class as they work to hone their leadership skills.

To mark this occasion, the school is running a walkathon on October 7, to be kicked off by a joint assembly on September 25th with representation from L'Arche.

As well, the school has planned for a 25th Anniversary Dinner Dance to be held on October 24th. More information about the dinn/dance can be found in the spotlight on our home page.

The picture above was commissioned as part of the celbration and features two Jean Vanier CSS students. The picture will be prominently displayed throughout the community on websites, TCDSB literature, busses and bus shelters.

Congratulations to both Jean Vanier CSS and L'Arche on the occasion of these special anniversaries!
