Toronto Catholic District School Board

Multicultural Events

The Jean Vanier C.S.S. community is enlivened by a broad array of cultures and heritages which enables all stakeholders: parish, home, school: students, parents, and staff to be enriched by unity in diversity.

In the Spring of each school year, on Multicultural Day/Night, students and staff showcase their cultures through food, the arts, and entertainment.

2016-17 Multicultural Day/Night will be held on:

Date: Wednesday, April 5

Time: 6:30-8:30pm

Tickets: $5.00 on sale at the door

2017 Multi Dress Down/Dress Up Day (Wed. April 5)

Multicultural Day/Night – Wed. April 5, 2017

Wednesday, April 5, 2017 is Multicultural Day/Night at Vanier!

A big part of sharing our cultural pride is dressing up to represent the culture of your choice. If students have anything that represents their culture or any other culture that they wish to showcase, they are encouraged to wear those clothing items tomorrow!

Remember: all clothing items must be appropriate for a school/business environment.

Dress Down (or Dress Up in Cultural Clothing) Day Protocol Reminders:

ü Students who are dressed down will get a wrist band with the $2 payment as usual

ü Students who are dressed up in traditional clothing (top and bottom) do not need to pay $2 and do not receive a wrist band.

ü Students can also wear a jersey or T-shirt representing a country of their choice. They MUST however be wearing uniform pants and shoes if they choose to wear just a jersey or T-shirt (This is being communicated via announcements as well)

So…
ü Dress Down = $2.00 + wrist band
ü Dress Up (Cultural clothes) = no $ + no wristband

Thank you for promoting school spirit through your pride in our community’s cultural diversity.

We hope that you join in the common lunch pavilions that we will have for tomorrow as well. There will be lots of good food and tickets are at a very reasonable price.

All multicultural day/night proceeds go towards school improvement projects!
