Congratulations to Askia Cummings, a grade 12 student at Jean Vanier CSS, who won first prize in March 2014, for his essay entitled "Five Ways to Control Bullying in Schools. Askia was in competition with hundreds of other students from across the GTA who not only feel strongly that bullying needs to be addressed, but are willing to step up and be part of the solution. The essay-writing contest was sponsored by the Human Rights and Race Relations Centre, who for the past 19 years, have awarded students for their essay-writing skills, and police officers for their work in improving race relations.

Well done Askia!
