Toronto Catholic District School Board

       Co-Curricular Activities

CROSS COUNTRY:

Every year our students have the opportunity to take part in a fitness program that leads to participation on the cross country team. We begin with a running club early in the school year with all interested students. Quite often we have half of our student population running during the lunch hour. As we train throughout the academic year, our runners become more fit and prepared for the Track and Field competitions in the spring and for a wide range of summer activities.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT:

Our relationship with the Ukrainian Credit Union has been centered around helping our students develop financial literacy through practical learning provided by the members of the Credit Union. Every year our intermediate students have this opportunity in the spring to understand the world of financial planning and the value of education in achieving a career that will meet the hopes and aspirations of our students.

TRACK AND FIELD:

Our track and field season begins in May and concludes with the City Championships at the beginning of June. Students can take part in running events – 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, and 4x100 relay- and field events , namely, long jump, high jump and shot put. Each event is divided into age categories, allowing students to compete against others their own age. In preparation for track and field, students are encouraged to participate in the running club throughout the year in order to prepare themselves for the fitness level required to be successful.
