ProsphoraProsphora 2.jpg

On Thursday, May 23, 2013 our grade 2 students were excited to be a part of a long standing tradition where each child made a prosphora for their First Solemn Communion. The prosphora is the leavened bread used for the body of Christ in the Eucharistic Mystery. Father Kachur was present to give the blessing and explained the significance of the prosphora to this year's grade 2 communicants.  Each child will keep their prosphora as a memento of their First Solemn Communion and the large ones that were made will be used for the Eucharist celebration at St. Nicholas Church on Sunday, May 26, 2013.

Thanks to Mrs. Krytiuk, Mrs. Kos, Mrs. Ivanovsky and Fr. Kachur for their efforts in preparing for the Holy sacrament.
