On Thursday, October 17, 2013, the grade 3 students of JCS discovered Ontario's rich First Nation's heritage as they explored a 15th century reconstructed Iroquoian Village.  Our students had the opportunity to engage in games, craft making, longhouse exploration and a hike to learn about what life was like in a longhouse village over 600 years ago.  Activities included:
  • longhouse exploration
  • circle gathering and fire starting
  • native games
  • craft making
  • multimedia presentation
  • "Moccasin Walk" guided hike

It was a memorable trip that brought their learning to life!
