At Loretto Abbey, the Halloween 4 Hunger Food Drive is organized annually on Halloween Day and, with the participation of the entire student body, $546 and 2000 pounds of food was collected
for the North York Harvest Food Bank. This massive food drive surpasses Loretto Abbey’s previous record of 1856 pounds set in 2010.
This event was organized by Loretto Abbey’s Empowered Student Partnership Program and is deeply inspired by the Me to We initiative that invites people to think globally about
hunger but to act locally. Every year, students are asked to either bring in a minimum of two non-perishable food items or a Toonie in order to wear costumes or dress in black/orange
on the day of Halloween.
