Congregated Advanced Placement (AP)

We will be accepting applications to our Congregated Advanced Placement Program for grade 9 students for the 2020-2021 school year in the fall of 2019.
The AP program at Marshall McLuhan provides an enriched classroom setting for highly motivated students in the areas of English, Math and Science.  Beginning in grade 9, the successful applicants will participate in pre-AP classes in which students study both the Ministry and the AP curriculum.  These exclusive academic classes lead to AP courses in grades 11 and 12 that prepare students to write AP exams with the possibility to earn a university credit in a specific subject area.

The Congregated AP program also is an excellent enrichment opportunity for students in Extended French as well as for students who are identified Gifted.  All motivated and committed academic students are encouraged to apply.  Places of admission into the program will be based on previous report cards, CAT 4 scores, a writing sample, principal/teachers recommendations, as well as the student's desire to commit to the level of study required by the enriched classroom setting.

Please note the Board will have a deadline to apply by which will be announced early in the fall.
