Cassini Scientist for a Day

Cassini 2016-2017 Scientist for a Day certificate.

Marshall McLuhan’s Gr. 9 Pre-AP science student Nathan Atienza Salvador, is a Canadian national winner in NASA’s 2017 Cassini Scientist for a Day essay contest.

The international competition challenged students to become NASA scientists studying Saturn.  Participants examined three images taken by the Cassini spacecraft and were tasked to choose the one they thought would yield the best scientific results. They justified their choice to a panel of experts in a 500 word scientific essay. Nathan’s winning essay on the hexagon at Saturn’s North Pole will be uploaded onto the NASA website in the coming weeks.

Congratulations Nathan!  Congratulations also to McLuhan Science teacher, Franca Mazze!
