Toronto Catholic District School Board

Metrolinx Construction on Eglinton Line

As progress continues on the Eglinton Line, Metrolinx wanted to share a brief update as the community starts a new school year.

In 2016 station construction will begin in earnest at several stops along Eglinton, in advance of full station construction preliminary work will continue along Eglinton in the Avenue area.  Ongoing work will include:

  • Geotechnical testing and monitoring activity.
  • Pre-construction building inspections and
  • Utilities inspection.
Crews will endeavor to minimize temporary disruption throughout all activity.  Also during construction, some sidewalks may be closed so pedestrians may be required to divert to the other side of the road or a temporary pedestrian walkway. They are asking pedestrians to observe and follow signs directing around detours and to be aware of their surroundings when travelling near construction areas. To ensure everyone’s safety, students and staff are asked to proceed with care and follow any signage during the construction period.

As always, more information is available from the project website at www.thecrosstown.ca or from the Community Relations office located at Eglinton and Dufferin (1848 Eglinton Ave West) 416-782-8118.
