Ward Weekly Update

For the week of Monday October 22nd – Friday October 26th, 2018

Hello Parents & Guardians.  Below, please find our Mary Ward Weekly Update.  This was also sent out electronically by School Messenger.

Welcome to Week 8

 Tip of the Week:

Punctuality to School:  Just a reminder to all families that school STARTS at 8:40 a.m.  At that time all students are expected to be in their TA groups.  Being in the building (but not in TA) constitutes the student receiving a ‘late’.  Please encourage all students to arrive at school at 8:30 a.m.  This allows students to go to their lockers, remove their coats, collect their text books, etc… to have everything they will need for morning TA as well as what they need for the first period.   Experience tells us that there is a DIRECT CORRELATION between the success of our students and attendance in morning TA.  For clarification purposes, TA is not optional.  All students must attend all 3 TA check in periods each day.  Students will also receive an absent or late notification home when they miss lunch or end of day TA check in/out.  We are in the process of following up with some individual students who are beginning to collect high numbers of ‘lates’.  Thank you for your support in this important aspect of our work here at Mary Ward.

Reminders of the Week:

The Ontario College Fair takes place Oct 23 (5 p.m. – 9 p.m.) & 24th (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.) at the Greencare Centre.  100 Princes' Blvd., Hall B - Exhibition Place, Toronto.  Do try to attend with your grade 11 or grade 12 child to investigate College opportunities and programs.
