For the week of Monday April 22nd – Friday April 26th, 2019


Hello Parents & Guardians.  Below, please find our Mary Ward Weekly Update.  This was also sent out electronically through School Messenger.


Welcome to Week 31  

Tip of the Week:

  • Our Math Department offers extra help through peer and teacher assistance every Monday- Thursday from 3 – 4 p.m. in the Math Department.  Please encourage your child to attend to receive additional assistance, to have help preparing for tests, to get help with their unit work.

  • The Science Department offers extra help sessions daily (Monday – Friday) at LUNCH in the Science Department.  A Science teacher will be present along with a number of strong senior science student-mentors.  All grades and levels of Science help will be available.  Don’t miss out!


Reminders of the Week:


  • Report cards were handed out to students to be carried home last Monday April 15th.  If you have not already done so, please review the report card – reviewing the mark AND learning skills as well as comments.  If you do not understand, please contact your child’s TA and/or subject teacher and plan to attend interviews (see below).

  • Parent Subject-Teacher interviews will be held on Tuesday April 23rd in the Mary Ward gymnasium from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.  This is a particularly important meeting for students who may be encountering challenges in completing their courses.

  • This is Earth Week in the TCDSB and Mary Ward C.S.S.  Green Quest will be organizing activities, announcements and prayers this week.

  • Earth Week Civvies day – Wednesday April 24th   Wear GREEN $2

  • We have cancelled the PLC (Professional Learning Community teacher meeting for this Friday due to the many interruptions and shortened week)


 Monday April 22nd – Easter Monday:

  • No school

  • Happy Easter!


Tuesday April 23rd – DAY 4 – Early dismissal for Parent-Teacher interviews:

  • French trip to France continues until April 26th

TA check-in     8:40 – 8:55   a.m.

Period 1           9:00 – 9:55   a.m.

Period 2           9:55 – 10:50 a.m.

Period 3         10:50 – 11:45 a.m.

Lunch            11:45 – 12:30 p.m.

TA check-in   12:30 – 12:35 p.m.

Period 4         12:35 – 1:30   p.m.

Period 5           1:30 – 2:20   p.m.​

  • Excursion:  Sr. Business Trip to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, depart @ 11:45 a.m., return @ 5:00 p.m.  Students previously registered for trip.

  • Athletics:  Girls Soccer @ Ward, 3:00 p.m.

  • Athletics:  Jr. Boys' Volleyball Game @ Ward vs Brebeuf, 3:00 p.m.


Thursday April 25th – DAY 6:

  • Stone Soup 3 p.m.

Friday April 26th - DAY 7 – (NO PLC MEETING) UNIT 14 Suggested Target Date:

  • Excursion:  WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) -Aid to Women, depart @ 10:00 a.m., return @ 2:00 p.m.  Students previously registered.
