Da Vinci’s Challenge

Da Vinvi's Challenge is a fun and challenging two-day interdisciplinary learning experience colloratively put together by teachers from Arts, Science, and Math department for students this May 2019. Students were first taught certain knowledge/skills as per curriculum learning expectations on day one. Then, they applied what they have learned to deal with Da Vinci's Challenge on day two in teams.

The challenges included challenges such as the Snake Challenge and the Lock-Opening Challenge. For the Snake Challenge, students needed to figure out a series of reflective angles so as to place mirrors at the exact angles for them to reflect an infrared beam several times and ultimately hit a target. The Lock-Opening Challenge involved students having to first solve a mathematical calculations by applying the SINE law, then do further calcuations with the answer they got in order to create three numbers, and then use the three numbers to open a lock to a safety box for their rewards plus further clues to resolving the Da Vinci's Challenge!

Student teams were scored on their planning, targetting, execution, team work, etc... The winner team received a huge trophy at the end and everyone has fun while learning new knowledge and skills as per curriculum expectations!
