  • Our annual “Life after Ward: Art Career Conference” Alumni event was a huge success! Close to 30 alumni came back for the event. There was a keynote speaker; a panel of ten alumni who are now in different art programs in various universities/colleges answered questions from our current students; nine breakout sessions and then a “Portfolio Walkabout” for students to see the great things our grads are doing in the art world since they have left and also continue with some good conversations. Thanks to John, Nicole, Mary-Lynn, Marissa, Silvia, and Sue for making this amazing event possible!
  • Mary Ward Planet was distributed before the holidays. Thanks to Nicole Powell and her team of talented and hardworking students who met the timeline for its release. It was an amazing and professional-looking publication that we can all be proud of!
  •  We appreciate the work that Su, Angela, Elona, JP, Kirk, and all their crew did to help make our Advent Mass one of the highlights of our final week before break.  Thanks also to those who volunteered to be Eucharistic ministers and helping out with other things, including Nadia, Steve, Ajay, Anna, Patrick, Lelly, and Arlene! Everyone’s efforts allow us to focus on the true meaning of this special season.
  • A big thank you to all TA’s for participating in the Advent Service Projects. The six worthy recipients of the over $7000 was raised in cash and goods included

o   Our Lady of Lourdes - a scrumptious Christmas meal was served to hundreds of guests in the Parish’s neighborhood

o   St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Aidan’s - Grocery Gift Cards

o   St. Felix Centre that provides food, shelter, programming, and sense of community to homeless men in the heart of downtown Toronto

o   The Shoebox Project for Women that supports homelessness women in the GTA east area received thoughtfully decorated and packaged shoeboxes filled with items that are both beautiful and practical valued at $50 each

o   Angel Foundations that support students within our TCDSB family

Thanks again to our students and staff open their hearts and contribute generously to these initiatives!

  • Once again, we were sent off to our holidays in fine spirits thanks to the tireless efforts of Tuccitto and the Grade 12 Drama students plus the talented teachers who performed on stage – McAlpine, Da Costa, Coleman, and Rosseel. Thanks also to other staff members who supported their students to enable them to perform to the best of their abilities! The legend of the Ward Annual Christmas Assembly continues!
