·       Thanks to OASIS Selection Committee for very difficult work in selecting next year’s future leaders.  Thanks also to our Teacher Advisors for taking the time to submit advisees’ names!

·       Thanks to Ms. Lena and Mr. Dabbagh for efforts with student council elections!

·       Thanks to everyone for your support of our Asian Heritage Month celebrations! The Cultural Expose/Fashion Show was well attended by staff and students. Some even described it as a “Rock Concert” for the audience’s response was tremendous! This event was possible because of the support generously provided in various ways to the Asian Heritage Month Celebrations Committee by M. Carabine, Tuccitto and the tech crew for lighting/sound, Parise-Bullock and EAs for preparing the Special Ed. students, Powell for her student photographer, Ferrante, Vecchiaraelli, De Silva, Tharshan, Rayman, Lena, Titus, and Ignatius for their showing off cultural costumes and dance performances, Rayman for stage decorations, Athill and Sersanti for supervision, and Artymowycz for securing the doors!

·       Of course, leading up to the Cultural Expose/Fashion Show involved several weeks of raising awareness of the Asian Heritage Month’s celebrations. Thanks to many colleagues for their efforts, especifically McAndrew for integrating into curriculum and having students make the display of posters of note-worthy Asian Canadians, Zidar for integrating into curriculum and having students put up big board displays that rotated weekly through the regions in Asia. Thanks are extended to the various colleagues including Chan, Tbanjajian, and others, for lending artifacts so the committee can put together a wonderful display of which great praise was received from visitors. As well, Ferrante for leading the cooking classes, Tharshan and Ignatius for directing the Henna Services, and also Harnum, Mak, Dabbaugh, and Zabana of our Chaplaincy team for working with students in making morning prayers that coincided with the Asian Heritage Month theme! Thanks again for everything!

·       Thanks to Bozek, Bullock, Largo, and Notten for putting on the very impessive DaVinci’s Dilemma. Students experienced a challenging and very memorable day of learning that included an opportunity to work with lasers!!! This was cross-departmental collaboration and learning at its best! Congratulations to all the students for their participation, and to the teachers for putting on such a successful day of learning.
