important Target Date that begins the Academic Alert process. Details has
been sent out from Kathleen in a memo regarding Academic Alerts and Conditional

reminder(s) next week! ***)
- Carryover Exam
Day is Monday November 12 –
Please submit the department’s carryover exam list to Department Heads by
November 8 (Thurs) so a list can be compiled for Test Centre in good time and
TAs advised of students taking exam. A Memo from Kathleen has been sent already
about the above.
- Also a reminder the “Take Your Kids To Work Day” this year falls on November 14th
instead of the first week of November as per TCDSB web information. Cindy has
emailed you about giving permission forms to Grade 9 students and contact any
advisee’s parents who have not returned the form to you by Nov 7th. If the student for some reason does not
participate in this day, it is expected that they will be in school for the
full day. Please hang onto the
permission forms as you will receive a form to fill out the list of students
out on Nov 14th for TOKW from Angela Cardinale. If you have any concerns, please contact Cindy.

Kudos:
- Thanks so much to Yvette, Filazzola, Visconti, and
Rayman who
put together an excellent Academic Award Night. Thanks also to Coleman for being the MC, Harnum for saying the
reflection and prayer, Joseph, and the Tech Crew for audio/visual/lighting, and of course all of the teachers who were
there last Monday to present awards or simply attended to support the
community. We
certainly appreciated having staff representation for the award presentations
as well. As usual, parental attendance was excellent. It was full
house! Overall, thanks to the organizing team for an awesome and efficient 45-minute
evening event! The team has got it down to a “science” now!! (No pun intended
for the science colleagues who put this together year after year!!)
TA Tip(s) of the week
The time to enter conditional
zero is fast approaching. TAs may want to ask their advisees regarding their
plans for not receiving conditional zeroes.
Meanwhile, we remind all TAs
to please inform teachers of their advisees whom should be exempt from
conditional zeros, due to extenuating circumstances.
Have a great week,
everyone!
