Toronto Catholic District School Board

Principal's Message

Welcome to the new 2017-2018 school year!

As we welcome our students back to school, it seems fitting that this month’s virtue is HOSPITALITY.   I take this opportunity to warmly welcome back all returning students and staff to Mother Cabrini! I extend a warm welcome to all students and families who are new to Mother Cabrini school community! Please join me in welcoming the following new staff members to our school: Melissa Hlady (Grade 8 teacher), Erin Forte (Educational Assistant), Duarte Daponte (Head Custodian),Gilbert De Sousa (Night Custodian). A complete staff list will be included in the September newsletter which will be posted on the school website.

I am very excited in my role as the new Principal of Mother Cabrini! I look forward with great anticipation to get to know my school community and start building harmonious relationships with students, staff, parents, stake holders and all members of the school community. I also look forward to working very hard with all members of the school community to continue the TCDSB and school goal of promoting a safe and caring school climate and achieving academic excellence for all students.

Our teachers have been busy preparing their classrooms, gathering together resources, supplies and putting up bulletin boards making their classroom inviting and welcoming for students' return.

We are in the second year of the TCDSB three-year pastoral plan, The Year of the Parish focusing on the theme, "Together With One Voice: Harmonizing our Faith Through Family, Parish and School". I look forward to collaborating with the Parish and school community on all of the work that you do and also welcome any suggestions on ways in which the parish can continue to be more fully involved in the life of the school, and for the school community to become more active in the parish.

I look forward to a wonderful year in partnership with all members of the Mother Cabrini School Community.
