Our school will be providing a remedial literacy and numeracy program for students in grade 7 and 8. This program is funded by The Ontario Ministry of Education and Training through the Learning Opportunities Grant initiative. It is designed to improve student’s literacy and numeracy skills. This program will take place two nights, for three hours a week after school and it will last for 8 weeks. The program will commence after the March Break. Interested parents/students are required to complete a Students Registration Form signed by a parent and the principal. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
Our students participated in a contest held by the Royal Canadian Legion on the theme of Remembrance Day. As part of this contest a number of students created work in the areas of colour posters, black and white posters, essays, and poems. Winners at the school level from each division submitted their work to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch competition.
